I started by cutting apart an old bike laying in our shed. I stripped all the useable components.Using the bottom bracket, dropouts, and old headtube, I started fabricating a new frameI mocked up a design I liked for the frameBefore welding up the frame, I tested the geometry with the fork installedI then welded up the frame and reinstalled all the componentsFor handlebars, I welded a chain solidI got a gold chain to match the yellow paint still on the headtube from the old bikeI also welded a custom plate and attached it to the seat with bike chain links
In 2023, I built a custom bike. I used an old steel bike that was sitting in a shed. What most people would see as a useless piece of junk, I saw as a blank canvas. I grabbed a grinder and began cutting, only saving the bottom bracket, dropouts, and headtube. From there, I designed an entirely new frame that was longer and lower. In a matter of weeks, I had built my very own rideable lowrider. I displayed it at the 2023 Grinduro race among professionally built handcrafted bicycles.
